Hi, I’m Alan O' Mahony.
I always love the “about me” page on websites like this because they’re written in the third person …even though they’re typically written by the the owner of the site.
So after Alan O'Mahony made several attempts to sound smarter than he really is by writing about himself in the third person, he quickly abandoned that approach and decided to write this page like it was a letter to a friend.
Which …in many ways, it is.
Anyway – what do you want to know?
I’m 38 years old. I'm divorced, and have been living and working as a personal trainer in Edinburgh for over 7 years.
I’m guessing that’s not the kind of stuff you’re looking for.
You’re probably wondering,
"Is This Guy Worth My Time And Attention?"
For many readers, my answer is NO.
I get it. Your pissed off with being in pain and are desperate to fix it.
I was the exact same when I broke my vertebrae and slipped two discs
When I completed my Masters I thought I would know all the "secrets" and "hacks" to help people improve their lower back issues faster than anyone else.
Well, it wasn’t easy, and what I have learned through further learning and years of coaching... quick fixes means there is an 90% chance of you needing to stay with me for the long term.
I am not about that my friend.
I am about helping you regain a healthy spine and a full vibrant life as seamlessly as possible, so you won't find your way back to me at a later date.
No, I'm not a boot camp army sergeant type. But here’s why I’m telling you this.
Start going down the “how to fix your lower back” rabbit hole, and you’ll see all kinds of ads and articles about "this one stretch" and all kinds of hype on the “latest loopholes” for easing your pain.
Does some of it work?
Probably. In the short term. But if you rely on that, you don’t have a healthy long term solution.
You have a temporary fix (an ease of symptoms, not a fix of underlying cause) supported by an unsustainable fad routine.
And that is a waste of time. If you want to waste time go see a film. It’s more fun (and less damaging to your health)
It’s important you understand what I’m telling you.
I can help you, I just won’t. I’m capable of it, but I refuse to do it.
Because when I hear someone say, “What’s the easiest way”, what I’m really hearing is, “I’m not fully invested in the long term success of this process… and am therefore not fully invested in the long term success of myself.”
And that really translates to “I don’t want to work”.
Look, undoing the damage that has happened is HARD WORK.
Yes, when you make progress and start seeing the results it can be just like you imagined: Fitting into your clothes, not being anxious about going on holiday and feeling damn good about yourself!
But that takes HARD WORK to achieve and it takes HARD WORK to maintain.
- Actionable strategies with training & nutrition that you can fit into your lifestyle right now, for free …which are usually followed by:
- Even smarter strategies designed for out of shape men who suffer with back pain.
- Accountability & plan to to losen you up and make your move properly
- Forging a mindset that will make it so that the only outcome is total success!
Hopefully by now you can tell I'm not one to lie or "fluff" around things - I will always provide you with the best strategies for helping you whilst always bearing in mind the long term effects and sustainability.
Why do I do this?
I broke my back, slipped two discs and went from a top European level athlete to being crippled with pain. I had to retire from my sport, I gained a shit ton of weight, struggled with depression and had no idea what way to turn.
Refreshingly honest huh?
But you still might be wondering…
